The organ donation process has never been simpler in the state of Vermont, however, there are still misconceptions about what is involved in becoming an organ donor. Step 2: Fill it Out!
Fill out the short organ donation registration form. The process takes less than 2 minutes. That’s it! Yes, it’s that easy to become a Vermont organ & tissue donor. It’s not only the easiest way, currently it is the only way to be on the state’s official organ donation registry.
Although it is the most time consuming part of the organ donation process, it takes less than two minutes.
What about my driver’s license? I signed it. Am I a donor?
As of right now, the Vermont DMV is not connected to the official organ donation registry. In the future it will be, however, those that sign the back of their license before then are not recognized as organ and tissue donors by the state’s registry.
